Art Classes
This class covers everything from drawing to painting, sculpture, ceramics and more. Art 1 is a requirement for this course. Students have a choice to go into a more specialized class for Art 2 but for students that would like to try another year of just about everything we offer should take this course. We explore the elements and principles of art on a deeper level. Click on the heading above to be taken to the class page.
Painting I & II
This stacked class explores the elements and principles through the world of painting and mixed media. Students use watercolor, tempera and acrylics to explore color and design.
Photography
Students learn all about the world of digital photography during 4th and 8th periods. Using DSLR cameras, students get to understand lighting and composition along with post-composition using Photoshop.
Ceramics
Using low fire clay, students are introduced to the basics of three-dimensional design and the technical aspects of clay. Students learn how to build pottery and sculpt clay that is both functional and decorative. They will also learn how to throw on the pottery wheel. Students will be evaluated on the quality of their projects, effort and class participation.
